Saturday, March 23 Placement Tests
Placement tests in math (for students who have completed a full year algebra course and wish to be considered for placement in geometry) and French or Spanish (for students who wish to be considered for placement in the second year of the language) are offered for students whose parents requested the placement test when filling in the course selection sheet.
MATH PLACEMENT TEST
Students whose parents requested a math placement test should report directly to the Claven Auditorium in Mercy Hall on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 7:50 a.m. The test will be administered between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Students are permitted to use a calculator (graphing or scientific). Cell phone calculators are not permitted. They must bring their own calculator to the exam. A student’s score on this test is not used to determine placement in honors or college prep, but rather to determine if the student has a thorough understanding of Algebra 1 and is ready to advance to Geometry. Click here for more details about the Math Placement Test.
FRENCH OR SPANISH PLACEMENT TESTS
Students whose parents requested a French or Spanish placement test should report directly to the Claven Auditorium in Mercy Hall on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 9:25 a.m. The tests will be administered between 9:35 a.m. and 10:35 a.m. Click here for French Placement Test study guide. If your daughter is unable to attend on March 23, call the Admissions Office at 203-877-2786 as soon as possible but, in the case of illness, no later than March 22 to reserve the alternate test date - Tuesday, March 26. Times for the March 26 test will be the same as stated above. On March 26, all students should report to the foyer of Mercy Hall. No alternate placement test will be scheduled if arrangements are not made on or before March 22.
Parents who wish to stay at Lauralton while students are taking placement tests are welcome to wait in Mercy Hall foyer. Lauralton Line, our school store, located on the lower level of Mercy Hall, will be open on both March 23 and March 26.
