Welcome from Kathleen Shine, Director of Enrollment

Welcome to Lauralton Hall!

I have seen many changes at Lauralton throughout my years in our admissions office.  Perhaps the most significant change occurred during this past year, as we all have adapted to endure the COVID-19 pandemic together.  Yet, our mission remains unchanged.  We are committed to all-girls, Catholic education in the Mercy tradition. And, as an independent school, we are self-reliant and resilient – qualities we model for our students as they learn and grow during their four years here.

We are fortunate that Lauralton is just the right size - small and nimble enough to have pivoted successfully to online learning in March 2020 and to reopen campus in September 2020 at a full five-day schedule; yet big enough to welcome students from 45 cities and towns in Connecticut, New York, and internationally,  while  accommodating our students' choice this past academic year to learn on campus or enroll in our online learning program, "LauraltonatHome."

As 75% of our students chose to be on campus and 25% learned at home, we completed a successful academic year 2020-2021. Our students demonstrated great resilience, focus, and creativity –  from winning the Sikorsky STEM Challenge to filming our annual fall musical “on location” outdoors on campus to bringing home the SCC Division B Field Hockey Championship. And, we were happy to celebrate the accomplishments of our Class of 2021 with a traditional graduation ceremony in June.

Now, we look forward to the new academic year 2021-2022! I invite you to explore Lauralton's historic campus on our virtual tour.  Hear our students answer frequently-asked questions and talk about what it means to be a Lauralton student.  Take a look at the ways Lauralton has thrived for 115 years.  And, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for a look at life at LH.

Although our traditional enrollment events may be different in fall 2021, please  inquire and we will send you information about other opportunities to connect with us including walking tours and shadow days.  Also, we are always happy to schedule a video call with you to answer your questions personally.  We look forward to meeting you!

Kind regards,
