School Counseling
Our multi- purpose counseling center offers a safe and welcoming space, perfect for both one-on-one meetings and group presentations by college admissions representatives. The department is structured so that counselors get to know our students. With a low student-to-counselor ratio, students engage in regular individual meetings and seminar classes, allowing counselors to build meaningful connections with each student.
Comprehensive School Counseling and Seminar Program
Through individual and small group meetings, students are guided through a comprehensive school counseling program which includes setting goals, building more sophisticated decision-making skills, identifying personal strengths, and exploring potential career paths. The Counseling Department follows a careful process of encouraging students to challenge themselves and gain awareness of their own values, learning styles, and personal attributes in this important stage of development.
In addition to individual meetings, students at Lauralton Hall take a seminar class each year. As freshman, students take a once per cycle class called First Year Experience. Sophomore year, students partake in a monthly Sophomore Seminar. College Seminar is built into students’ schedules during second semester junior year and first semester senior year.
