Meet Lauralton Hall's New Athletic Director!

I am pleased to announce that Mr. Christopher Lindwall has accepted the position as Lauralton Hall’s next Athletic Director.

Dear Lauralton Hall Community,

I am pleased to announce that Mr. Christopher Lindwall has accepted the position as Lauralton Hall’s next Athletic Director. Chris has spent the last 14 years as the Head Girls Basketball Coach at St. Joseph’s High School in Trumbull while also serving as owner and President of Emerge Promotional Marketing. In addition, he is the Director and Head Coach of the Connecticut Hoopsters Girls Basketball AAU Travel Program.

Earlier in his coaching career, Chris was the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Fairfield University. Chris grew up in Fairfield and attended Andrew Warde High School and holds a degree from Southern Connecticut State University in Human Performance.

Coach Lindwall’s references described him as a person who puts his players first and embraces the high school experience. A former college coach, Chris understands the value of athletics at the secondary school level. He is a people person and values the relationships he has made with his players, parents of players, and fellow coaches in the Southern Connecticut Conference (SCC) and Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC). Chris was described as a strong mentor to new coaches.

“I am truly humbled and honored to be named the next Athletic Director at Lauralton Hall,” Chris said.  “Lauralton is truly a special place where young ladies can achieve incredible success in the classroom and in athletic competition.  I look forward to working with Head of School Beth Coyne, the coaches, and student-athletes to create an environment and Athletic Program all will want to be a part of.”

Our senior captains were inspired by his vision for Lauralton Hall athletics. His developmental approach will help us build up our programs in all areas. The faculty and administration noted his passion for women’s sports and Catholic education. Chris’s experience in the SCC and CIAC makes him a great fit to be our impact player on team Lauralton!

Chris resides in Trumbull with his wife, Janice, and their two children. His son, Justin, recently graduated from the University of Rhode Island and his daughter, Julia, is a junior at UCONN where she is the Student Manager for the Women’s Basketball Team. Chris will start at Lauralton on Monday, Nov. 6. He looks forward to seeing members of our community in the Athletic Center or on the sidelines supporting our teams.

I would like to thank the search committee made up of current and past coaches - Theresa Napolitano P’11, P’13, Jill Waldron, Christine Miller, Erin Chamberlain, Kim Bernier P’19, and Anna Wieciorkowska ‘10, as well as our Athletic Trainer, Nicole Klarides-Ditria.  I am excited about the future of Lauralton Athletics!

Sincerely,

Beth Coyne
Head of School
