Lauralton teacher to headline Irish concert May 17Posted on May 11, 2008
Lauralton Hall Religion teacher Damien Connolly, an award-winning accordion and melodeon player, will headline a Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17. Hailing from one of Ireland’s most famous musical families, Connolly will perform in Lauralton Hall’s Claven Auditorium, 200 High St., Milford. He’ll be joined by guitarist and vocalist Johnny Cuomo, flutist Dan Lowry and vocalist Allison Barber. Hailing from Ireland’s Killaloe, County Clare, Connolly is quickly being recognized as one of the finest musicians of his generation. An All-Ireland Champion on both accordion and melodeon, his debut album, “Tippin’ Away,” received rave critical reviews. Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for students and children.
