Ms. Powers was named academic dean in 2014. She had served since 1986 as the chair of Lauralton’s math department and was co-chair of the NEASC Accreditation in 2008. In addition, from 2011 to 2014, Ms. Powers served as coordinator for academic affairs. Prior to returning to her alma mater as a teacher, Ms. Powers taught math at St Mary’s High School in New Haven. Her hobbies include golfing and kayaking.
