College Admission

• Lauralton’s Guide to College Admissions
  This comprehensive guide, published annually by the guidance department, is made available in junior year to students and their parents.
• Naviance
  Naviance "Family Connection," a web-based search engine, is a big hit among parents and students. It not only helps with the college search, application, and selection process, it helps keep track of deadlines, search for colleges by criteria of your choosing and contact admissions offices personally. As an added bonus, Naviance enables you to see Lauralton alumnae have fared at various colleges. Every student and parent receives a user name and password to access data about college information.
• Common Application
  The “Common App” is an undergraduate college admission application that applicants can use to apply to any of 456 member colleges and universities in the United States and other countries.

Standardized Testing

• College Board (SAT 1 & 2, PSAT)
  This is the organization that administers the SAT, SAT 2, AP tests and other tests used for college admissions and academic achievement.
• ACT (American College Testing Program)
  This company administers the ACT for college admissions.

Financial Aid

• FAFSA
  FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
• CSS Profile
  CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE is the financial aid application service of the College Board.
• Net Price Calculator
  This tool helps estimate the “net price” to attend a specific college or university.
